A few questions, answered.
Numbur comes from natural springs at 2,550 metres in Solukhumbu, in Nepal’s Everest region. It is bottled by Everest Natural Spring Water Pvt. Ltd.
Numbur is named after Numbur Himal, the mountain above Dudh Kunda, a sacred glacial lake at 4,560 metres in Solukhumbu whose name means “Milk Lake” in Nepali. Our water comes from natural springs lower down, at 2,550 metres.
Numbur has a pH of 8.1 at the source. Water with a pH above 7 is alkaline, and below 7 it is acidic. We don’t make it alkaline: the water comes out of the ground that way.
Yes. Nepal’s National Drinking Water Quality Standards, 2079 set a pH range of 6.5 to 8.5. Numbur measures 8.1 at the source.
TDS (total dissolved solids) is the total amount of minerals dissolved in water. Numbur has 64 mg/L, including calcium, silica and magnesium. Nepal’s standard sets the upper value at 1,000 mg/L.
Numbur is natural spring water, or mul ko pani (मुलको पानी), from springs at 2,550 metres in Solukhumbu. In Nepal, bottled drinking water (bottle ko pani) is usually called mineral water (मिनरल वाटर). Numbur’s minerals occur naturally, and each bottle lists them per litre.
Our process uses ultra-filtration, double UV sterilization and hydro-ozonation before automated filling and sealing.
Yes. Everest Natural Spring Water Pvt. Ltd. is ISO 22000:2018 certified for food safety management. Its DFTQC no. is 02-11-83-08-2087 and its company registration no. is 328001/080/081.
